Gift Guide Bandon

Hi All!bandon lights

Welcome to the first blog of Cherry Marketing Bandon. I hope you enjoy it. And if you do, remember….sharing is caring!!

Given the festive time of year that it is, I thought it would be fun to take a look at what Bandon has to offer you for your Christmas Shopping needs. Hopefully you will find it helpful. I’d love your feedback on this (so leave a comment!). And if I forget something that you think everyone needs to have in their stocking, comment below

Family, Neighbours, Loved Ones Abroad

It’s hard to find the right gift for those who are close enough to expect a present but not close enough to act as their Santa! And I’m sure all of us have that someone abroad who would love a taste of home this Christmas. Well it looks like those at Urru have answered our prayers this Christmas. Beautiful hampers are available from the delightful shop on McSweeney’s Quay at a range of prices. All beautifully presented and offering good, honest, local food. You can shop online here or of course pop into the shop to get a better feel for what is on offer. The tempting pictures of the produce online were shot by one of our many talented local photographers Phillip Cullinane.

This brings me to another great gift for someone you know this Christmas. A voucher for a photoshoot! Why not encourage someone to find their inner beauty and confidence or indeed help out in that upcoming communion/confirmation bill. With Bandon awash with sharp-eyed photographers, there is no shortage in this department. It might not be suited for your loved one abroad, but those close to home would certainly appreciate it. Check out the many Facebook pages for their details and to see what offers they may have on. As well as Phillip (link above) there is Finbarr Crean, Tadg Spillane, Denis Boyle, Photo Eire and I’m sure there are more if you search around.

For Him

It could just be me but I find shopping for the males in my life the most difficult one of all. Unless they have a reasonable hobby that you can shop for in some way then it’s usually the line of clothes or jewellery that you reach for! Thankfully we are abundant in menswear here in town with Don Murray’s, Linehan’s, and Kevin Bowens offering all we might need. From a fancy tie, new cufflinks for a special occasion or a Christmas shirt and jumper, you are sure to bag a bargain in one of these stores.

Another option is to head down the technology line if he is that way inclined. D.I.D Electrical, O’Donovan’s Electrical and Recharge can offer you a selection of products. You can also pop along to any of the phone shops (don’t forget An Post in that category!) and pick up a phone deal.

Or get him treated at one of our many barbers 🙂

For Her

Well what a range for the lovely ladies we have in our town. From fashion, hair and beauty, jewellery and pampering you are bound to find something. Some of our fashion shops are renowned far beyond the borders of the town for offering style and affordability. From Kevin Bowens, Heatons, Garbo’s, Element, O’Leary’s, Elizabeth Fashions, Paco, O’ Brien’s SaddleryShortens, Dressed..we are spoiled for choice! And guys, if you can’t pick up an outfit a voucher is always much appreciated and goes alot further in those January sales!

From a new outfit to a new ‘do, we love a chance to spruce ourselves up. Again we are not left disappointed in the range of hairdressers in town. Wayne Lloyd, Hairline, Graphix, C & G Barbers, La Moda, Jan & Di’s and Zig Zag are waiting to revive our locks for the festive season. They may also give ideas for hair care and styling products so don’t be afraid  to pop in and get some advice for your loved one.

In tandem with the above goes our range of beauticians which are second to none. Time for You, Bandon Beauty Clinic, Niamh’s Nails, Juvena Beauty Salon or Olive Lowney’s can offer amazing packages or single treatments in a varied price range to suit everyone. Again why not go the voucher option to avoid picking from such a wide range?

Alternatives

Many people like to find hidden and quirky treasures. Fear not as these are all offered to us in the town too. Warren Allen Collections always have something a little different. Take a look at the quirky books and journals or go for something like a scarf, or a money-jar with a difference.

And if you are thinking craft you have to think of Bandon Craft Centre.

O’Farrells are another hidden gem with books and ornaments to allow each shopper to view a variety of gifts on offer. They are also amazing for Christmas decorations and it’s lovely to receive a gift that you will unwrap with love every year.

Bandon Books Plus will not fail you for something different. Even if they are not an avid reader there are so many genres available you will undoubtedly find something interesting.

How could we go on without mention our amazing restaurants in town? After a flurry of preparations and cooking over the festive period there is nothing nicer that looking forward to a lovely meal. Chapel Steps, Poachers Inn, Cafe Italiano and the Market Bar also have something scrumptious to devour. Again its a voucher option and hassle free to put in a card.

For the music enthusiasts among you, tickets can be ordered for our globally famous Harp Gathering concert which will take place in August (you can never be too prepared as this is a sell out event!). So check it out and pop it in that stocking!

If all else fails head down to one of our many pharmacies which always have options for men, women and children.

I couldn’t possibly think of all our amazing shops but I hope I have encouraged you to take another look around at the amazing items on offer in Bandon. If you are looking for that special present or a stocking filler you are sure to find something for everyone. Merry Christmas and happy shopping!
